Civil Rights Hearing
About This Item
KRON News footage from May 4th 1967 in San Francisco featuring a scene from a civil rights hearing in which the speaker criticizes what he calls America's "racist society," in which the police, media and the establishment try to perpetuate the myth that "black folks are inferior and white folks are superior." Despite pointing out his belief that most people don't actually believe this, he concludes: "If this country cannot endure as set forth in the constitution, it does not deserve to endure at all."
