Bobby Seale at the Berkeley Courthouse
About This Item
KTVU News footage from c1968 in Oakland featuring scenes of Bobby Seale arriving at the Berkeley Municipal Courthouse, asking crowds to fall back from the building and speaking at a press conference after his trial. Also includes views of his lawyer Charles Garry speaking heatedly at the press conference: "Nothing will hold up in court. These are phony charges. You cannot barge into a man's home, under the pretence that there's been a disturbance of the peace ... and with guns drawn tie everybody up and then search the house!" Seale is also visibly angry and in response to reporters questions about what happened declares: "I think it's a whole bunch of trumped up bull crap!"
