KPIX-TV Eyewitness news footage from September 5th 1973 featuring brief scenes from a preview benefit event for the re-opening of the Paramount Theatre on Broadway, in downtown Oakland. Includes views of crowds watching a live orchestra (conducted by Jack Bethards) and of people looking at art installations inside the theatre. Originally opened in 1931, the Paramount closed for a second time in 1970. It's offical re-opening was on September 22nd 1973 and brief scenes from that event may also be viewed in DIVA, in KRON 3433-11.
