KTVU News footage from January 9, 1966 with Claud Mann featuring a press conference by the recently incorporated Society for Humane Abortion at the Hilton Hotel in San Francisco, who are publicizing an "informational" public conference. Includes comments from Pat Maginnis (founder and president), Dr. W.J. Bryan Henrie (jailed in Oklahoma for 2 years, after performing 5000 illegal abortions) and Sherri Finkbine (who had a highly publicized abortion in 1962, as a result of taking the drug Thalidomide). Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
This 16mm film print was re-scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in February 2023.
