KRON News footage from May 17th 1972 featuring brief scenes of Art Brown interviewing Coretta King for her reaction to the shooting of Governor George Wallace on May 15th by Arthur Bremer, in Maryland. She states: "I greatly deplore this dastardly act that was perpetrated against Governor Wallace. I certainly defend his right to run for the Presidency and to speak his convictions. I think this is another example that no individual is safe in this society which is so violently oriented." She also goes on to reflect on how this incident relates to the legacy of her late husband, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
