About This Item
Raw KRON-TV news footage from November 4th 1998 featuring scenes of Belva Davis interviewing actor, author and civil rights activist Ossie Davis (1917-2005). They discuss: the civil rights movement; Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; Malcolm X; a book he recently co-wrote with his wife Ruby Dee - 'With Ossie and Ruby: In This Life Together'; his experience of racism in theater, film and television; his relationship with wife Ruby Dee and the economic realities of trying to be ethical but also make ends meet. When asked about his feelings for the future he states: "I feel exhilarated … I deeply believe that we're on the verge of major changes and that those changes will be for the better."
