About This Item
An unofficial "selected highlights" history of KQED, written by Jay Yamada, covering the first 40 years of the Bay Area's PBS affiliate, which first went on air April 5th 1954. In his foreward to the first edition, Yamada states: "All the opinions expressed in this work are my own. KQED has not exercised any editorial control over this document. The views presented here are not those of the board, management or staff of KQED." This is a companion-piece to Yamada's 'KQED 1993-2002, The Mary Bitterman "Aloha" Edition'. Note that this history was uploaded to DIVA with the approval of KQED Marketing.
