KRON-TV News footage from May 9th 1968 featuring scenes from a speech by comedian and actor Bill Cosby at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel. He reflects on attitudes to non-violence and civil rights, proposing that: "It has come to the point now wherein black people have to go out and burn up the neighborhood in order to get the community to see what's going on." He also talks about wanting to "teach in the gehtto" and states: "It's getting so now garbage collectors earn more than school teachers." Ends with brief, silent views of the audience and venue.
