Elizabeth Catlett Exhibition & Art Program at Rainbow Sign Club

KPIX News report by Ed Arnow from September 9, 1972 featuring an all day program on African American art at the Rainbow Sign Club in Berkeley. Includes interviews with printmaker and sculptor Elizabeth Catlett along with views of her artwork. Catlett states,   "Artists generally project themselves towards galleries and buyers or collectors, but I want to talk about the relationship of the artist to the community, especially the black artist to the black community."  Evangeline "EJ" Montgomery, curator and advocate for Black artists comments, "We are hoping to involve the total community in the Black visual arts and the black media."
