Rick Cluchey Released From San Quentin [KRON-TV]

KRON news footage from December 12th 1966 featuring scenes of playwright and actor Rick Cluchey (1933-2015) being released on parole from San Quentin prison, after serving 11 years of a life sentence. He is interviewed by Art Brown, who asks: "When did you take a turn for the better, if we can use that phrase in San Quentin?" Cluchey replies that: "A man's rehabilitation can start as soon as the gate closes behind him... It's a situation where you can make of it what you will. If you're looking for trouble, this is the place to find it. If you're looking maybe to change your life, despite some odds let us say, that too is possible. And I feel that I have achieved that ... Primarily becuase I came here with no hope of pardon or parole that makes this day very great for me. A kind of a victory."
