KRON news footage from October 6th 1972 featuring scenes from a press conference by basketball player Rick Barry, who has just been released by the New York Nets and is announcing his return to the Golden State Warriors. Note that on June 23rd a United States District Court judge had issued a preliminary injunction to prohibit Barry from playing for any team other than the Golden State Warriors after his contract with the Nets ended. Barry began his professional basketball career with the Warriors (known then as the San Francisco Warriors) in 1965. Barry states that negotiations to rejoin the Warriors were relatively simple after he spoke directly with owner Franklin Mieuli. He is also looking forward to working with coach Al Attles and affirms that: "Basketball is what I love to do ... I just couldn't see myself giving up basketball." Ends with silent views of Barry playing on court, from well before this press conference. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
