KPIX news footage from April 27th 1973 with Pat O'Brien in Santa Cruz featuring scenes of police and sherrifs examining the trunks of two cars belonging to murder suspect Edmund Kemper and his (recently murdered) mother Clarnell Strandberg. Also includes brief views of the Santa Cruz mountains, where O'Brien tells us it's possible that Kemper will be brought to search for the mortal remains of alleged murder victims he's described to the authorities. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
Please note there is an extended sequence of voice-over only from reporter Pat O'Brien from 0:59-2:18 in this clip, which contains much relevant detail. Not enough picture survived from this location shoot to provide images for O'Brien's voice-over, which is why there is a black screen.
