KPIX-TV news footage from May 8th 1969 featuring brief scenes from the arraignment of Rodolpho "Tony" Martinez, Nelson Rodriguez and Danilo Melendez, three of the 7 suspects being charged with the murder of San Francisco police officer Joe Brodnik and assault on his partner officer Paul McGoran on May 1st 1969, on Alvarado Street in the Noe Valley neighborhood. Reporter Pat O'Brien explains that three other suspects were arraigned yesterday: Jose Rios, Jose Mario Martinez and Gary Lescallett. One other suspect - Gio Lopez - is still at large. Collectively these 7 men became known as Los Siete de la Raza. This clip includes views of people trying to get into the small, municipal courtroom, shots taken through the courtroom window of the three men and an interview with Jose Rios's lawyer Carlos La Roche.
