About This Item
A KPIX-TV special report on how Ch.5 TV camera operators found themselves caught up in and shooting scenes from the Loma Prieta earthquake in San Francisco on October 17th 1989. Features interviews with four camera operators: Larry Warner; Shaun Donahue; Kevin Raphael and Lionel Coleman and also views of reporter and anchorman Loren Nancarrow and reporter Sherry Hu working on camera. Also includes scenes from the World Series baseball game at Candlestick Park before and after the earthquake hit, views of injuries and fatalaties caused by the quake (with devastation to structures) and of KPIX covering this breaking story, with news anchor Dave McElhatton.
