KRON-TV news footage from May 31st 1984 featuring Jesse Jackson campaigning for the Democratic Presidential Primary nomination in San Francisco's Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood. Includes scenes of Jackson giving a speech at the Providence Baptist Church on McKinnon Avenue, in which he characterizes his leadership style as being one of "direct action and making things happen" and afterwards marching with large crowds along 3rd Street, mingling with the community. Note that Jackson eventually placed third in this Democratic primary race, behind Gary Hart and Walter Mondale, winning 18% of the total votes.
