KRON-TV news footage from September 12th 1968 at the Alameda County Courthouse in Oakland with reporter Dave Valentine, featuring press conferences by the Reverend Walter Newton (1903-1974), lawyer Charles Garry and a jury member in Huey P. Newton's trial for the killing of Oakland Police Department officer John Frey. Walter Newton comments on his son's trial: "I really didn't think he got a fair trial ... Because nothing stood up, what was said." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
