KRON-TV news footage from June 7th 1968 featuring brief scenes from an interview with the leader of the Black Panther party Huey P. Newton in jail, pending the start of his trial for the murder of oakland Police Officer John Frey. Newton describes an incident in which he claims police used force to resolve a disagreement with inmates. He also talks about conditions under which he's now being held, having been transfered into an isolation cell ("the hole"), where he is surviving on a "starvation diet."
