Philip Lasky On Setting Up KPIX-TV

KPIX-TV special report from 1948 featuring an interview with Vice president and General Manager of KPIX-TV Philip J. Lasky. Stood in front of a TV camera, the interviewer (representing San Francisco's Chamber of Commerce) begins by saying: "I want to congratulate you Mr. Lasky upon the arrival in San Francisco of this very fine equipment. I hope it brings television to San Francisco Bay Area a lot sooner than it would've otherwise." Lasky also confirms that a shipment of steel is on its way to help construct Ch.5's transmitter on the Mark Hopkins Hotel and they expect to have KPIX on the air by December.
