New KPIX Building on Van Ness (1952)
KPIX-TV special report from 1952 with Sandy Spillman at Van Ness and Greenwich in San Francisco, where KPIX's new purpose built television studios are under construction. Includes views of the construction site and interviews with Chief Engineer Al Town and George Mathieson, who explain how the new 25,000 sq. ft. building will provide KPIX with three times more studio space than they currently have in the Mark Hopkins Hotel and will also be equipped with audience facilities, so KPIX viewers can actually visit the station.
