About This Item
KPIX-TV special report from 1952 with Sandy Spillman on Mount Sutro in San Francisco, featuring views of KPIX's new broadcast transmitter and antenna. Project leader Roald Didrikson explains that the increased height of this new antenna, compared to the old one which was on top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel in the city, will provide a better signal and coverage for the Bay Area.
