KTVU news footage from January 18th 1968 featuring scenes from a press conference by singer and activist Joan Baez, who has just been released from the Santa Rita Rehabilitation Center. Pictured with her mother Joan Bridge Baez (who was in jail with her daughter), Baez describes her experience and reflects on the Vietnam protest movement. This was the singer's second visit to the Rehabilitation Center and they were visited on January 14th by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
Note that we also have coverage of this press conference from KPIX-TV and KRON-TV streaming in DIVA. The opening sequence in this clip cannot be found in either of those alternatives.
