KPIX-TV news footage from September 17th 1961 featuring silent views of the Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) picketing outside Kezar Stadium in San Francisco. They are protesting against the Washington Redskins being the only remaining football team in the NFL to not hire African American players. Washington became the final professional American football franchise to integrate in 1962. Note that Terry Francois, the San Francisco Chapter President of the NAACP (and later a San Francisco Supervisor) can be seen on-camera at the end of this clip.
