Additional vigilance at San Quentin for Sirhan Sirhan

KPIX-TV news footage from March 1 1973 with reporter Mike Lee outside the gates of San Quentin state prison, where we are told security and vigilance has been stepped up: "In the wake of the Palestinian demand to free Sirhan." Inmate Sirhan Sirhan was originally moved to San Quentin's death row in 1969, after being convicted of assassinating Senator Robert Kennedy. Sirhan's sentence was reduced in June 1972 from death to life imprisonment, following the abolition of capital punishment by California. Includes brief views of Sirhan walking along a corridor with his attorney Grant B. Cooper and exterior shots of San Quentin. Lee explains that since being taken off death row, Sirhan has been held in San Quentin's: "Maximum security adjustment center." Note that the scenes featuring Mike Lee appear to have been shot in the evening whilst the footage of San Quentin was taken during the day.
