Interview with M. Justin Herman about workable program review

KPIX-TV news footage from November 25 1969 with Ch.5 reporter Dave Monsees featuring scenes from an interview with the Head of the San Francisco Redevelopment Agency M. Justin Herman. Herman discusses how a bi-annual "workable program", which includes controversial plans to redevelop the Western Addition and Hunters Point neighborhoods, will be reviewed by the city's Planing and Development Committee. If approved, we're told it will then be passed on to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for further review. Herman also explains what might happen if the program is not approved by HUD. Note that Herman died suddenly of a heart attack on August 30 1971.
