California issues a marketing order for the poultry industry

KPIX-TV news footage from August 7 1972 with reporter Bill Hillman featuring a report about how some egg prices have reached an all time low in California since the spring of 1971, causing problems for egg producers. Hillman explains that to correct this agricultural surplus, the State will issue a "marketing order", under which production will be strictly controlled and egg prices should rise. A poultry farmer from Santa Rosa - Hank Helpmann - explains that: "We're hoping that it's going to bring production in line with consumption."
