KPIX-TV news footage from 8/22/1974 with reporter Lynne Joiner featuring views of volunteer inmates at Vacaville Prison - "The Volunteers of Vacaville" - who provide braille and reading services to blind and visually impaired people and also to students. Includes an interview with project coordinator Bob Getz. Joiner explains in voice-over that of the 650 inmates who've worked in this program, less than 1% returned to prison. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
