Blaze Starr dancing and interview at the Palace Theatre (1975)

KRON-TV news footage from June 5 1975 with reporter Bob Halliday featuring scenes of stripper and burlesque star Blaze Starr (born Fannie Belle Fleming, 1932-2015) dancing on-stage and being interviewed in her dressing room at the Palace Theatre in San Francisco's North Beach neighborhood. Starr answers questions about whether striptease is a "dead art, how pornographic movies have hurt the stripping industry and her longevity as a performer. When asked if she would do it all over again - with a book released about her life in 1974 and movie rights to her story already sold - Starr replies: "I would do it twice as hard. That way my book would be twice as good and the movie would be twice as raunchy when they get the movie made." Note that a movie about Blaze Starr's life was eventually released in 1989 called Blaze. It was directed by Ron Shelton, starred Lolita Davidovitch in the title role and featured a cameo appearance by Starr herself.
