KRON-TV news footage from January 9, 1968 with reporter Phil Wilson featuring a press conference by kidney transplant pioneers Dr. Folkert O. Belzer, Dr. Samuel L. Kountz, Jr. and Dr. John Englebert Dunphy. They are part of a team which has developed a machine which can transport organs - especially kidneys - and extend the time available for transplanting them from donors into recipents. Opens with views of the perfusion preservation machine in operation, which is referred to as: "A major breakthrough in kidney transplants." Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
This 16mm negative film print was transferred in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in September 2022.
