Interview with kidney transplant pioneer Dr. Roy Barnett Cohn

KPIX-TV news footage from June 23, 1967 with reporter Belva Davis at Stanford Medical Center featuring an interview with Dr. Roy Barnett Cohn, a pioneer in transplant surgery who performed the West Coast's first successful kidney transpant in 1960. He recently performed a kidney transplant at Stanford on a patient using an unrelated donor, identified through tissue typing. Cohn comments on issues relating to this less common form of transplant and also discusses the outmoded definition of death as it applies to medicine in the US, which: "Is based on British Common Law, about 1500 and hasn't changed since."
