Beer pickets outside St. Clair's Liquor and teamsters beer strike

KPIX-TV news footage from October 13, 1973 with reporter Pat O'Brien featuring scenes from a beer picket outside St. Clair's Liquor at 24th and Sanchez in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood, including an interview with owner San Mateo County Supervisor Bob St. Clair and views of the picket line outside, which is chanting: "Scab beer!" There is also an interview with Teamsters Local 888 leader Allan Baird. The reel ends with a separate report by Ed Arnow featuring scenes from a dispute between teamsters and men trying to unload beer for their boss (including Tom Griffin). This "add-on" film reel was spliced onto the other film reel at some point, prior to the KPIX Collection being donated to the TV Archive in the 1980s. We don't have any paperwork which specifies on which date this additional reel was shot by KPIX or when/why it was added to collection number KPIX 114468. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.

These 16mm color reversal film prints were scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in February 2023.
