Frazier jury visits Ohta murder scene

KPIX-TV news footage from November 12, 1971 with reporter Rollin Post featuring scenes of the Ohta murders jury taking a 5-stop tour around the Santa Cruz mountains, accompanied by the accused John Linley Frazier, District Attorney Peter Chang and Judge Charles S. Franich. The court chartered a California Sightseeing Tours bus, which travelled 60-miles from the Santa Cruz Courthouse, around the Santa Cruz mountains and eventually to the ruins of the Ohta mansion, on the outskirts of Soquel. Includes views of the party and Frazier and a roundup by Post at the end, by the Ohta swimming pool. Note that John Linley Frazier (aka The Killer Prophet) was convicted on five counts of first degree murder on November 29, 1971 and eventually hung himself in jail on August 13, 2009. This 16mm color reversal film print was scanned in 4K (4096 x 2970) using a Lasergraphics ScanStation film scanner, in August 2024.
