Mothers milk for Elaine Garcia
About This Item
KPIX-TV news footage from January 24, 1974 with reporter Bill Hillman featuring scenes from Valley Medical Center in San Jose, where 7-month old Elaine Garcia is being treated for symptoms caused by her being allergic to formula. Elaine has been there for 2 months now and has much improved over the past 3 weeks, after doctors found she was able to tolerate breast milk. We're told that Eyewitness News launched an appeal for mother milk for Elaine and this has been very successful in obtaining a supply. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
