A segment from the c.1985 debut episode of KTVU's Assignment Two program, produced by Johnny Barnes Selvin, featuring an outreach program by Oakland Police Department to establish trust with children in their community using a droid - "Officer Packy Bell." As Selvin puts it: "He's not just another pretty face at the OPD. He's a 5ft 4in, 180lb droid, who's job is to teach Oakland's children to protect themselves and to trust police officers." Includes scenes of children being shown a film at Glenview Elementary School; interviews with OPD officers; interviews with Mayor Lionel Wilson and Doug Jones of Pacific Bell and views of Packy Bell interacting with children.
