KRON-TV news footage from December 27, 1968 featuring a press conference by SFPD Captain Martin Lee, who comments on the murder of Ann Jiminez in her Haight Ashbury apartment. The 19-year old Jiminez was found dead in a bathtub and Lee states: "This girl had been assualted viciously. In fact, sadistically might be closer to the description." Jiminez had moved to San Francisco from Bellingham WA in November and shared an apartment with 4 other people at 1490 Waller Street. She was gang raped (or "turned out") and beaten to death by at least 6 men and 3 women from her building, allegedly for stealing her roomate's boots. An eyewitness account of this ordeal can be read on p.6 of the August 29, 1969 San Francisco Chronicle newspaper, in an article by Maitland Zane.
