Bus drivers reject final offer

KPIX-TV news footage from September 17, 1976, with reporter Bob Navarro featuring scenes from outside Dovre Hall in San Francisco, where striking school bus drivers have just voted 116 to 35 to reject an offer by the Associated Charter Bus Company, after a 4-hour meeting. Union members are seen leaving the building and David Shortino exclaims: "They gave us a last, best, and final offer. I kind of call it a last, worst, and final offer ... We want them to sit down and talk to us!" Also includes brief views of schoolkids being dropped off and walking to school. Note that Dovre Hall, located at 3543 19th Street in San Francisco, was renamed San Francisco Women's Building in 1978. Opening graphic designed by Carrie Hawks.
