An Interview with Christopher J Chow

An interview with former KPIX-TV reporter Christopher J Chow from June 2, 2025, with SFSU's Beca Operated Student Association (BOSA). Chow graduated from UC Berkeley in 1970 with a BA in Journalism and was the first Asian American hired as an on-air TV news reporter in Northern California, in November 1970. Chow answers questions about: being hired in 1970; the importance of seeing Asian Americans on television; how the Bay Area Television Archive helps with historical perspective; being authentic; students using the Television Archive; the role of traditional journalism today and using media to help effect societal change.
