GSS 2004

About This Item

The General Social Survey (GSS) from the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) collects data on demographic characteristics and attitudes of U.S. residents. A key feature of the GSS is that it is general, covering a wide-range of disparate topics. The GSS was conducted anually between 1972 and 1994, and biennially beginning in 1994. (Due to funding shortages, studies were not conducted in 1979, 1981, and 1992.) This is the data collected from the study in 2004, along with its associated codebook. A separate bundle includes data from 1972-2004.
