Photograph of the Art Club at San Francisco State Teachers College was established in spring 1925. Eva Kording, the first president, organized the club that adopted the Craft Shop as its studio and created the motto: "Art for Art’s Sake providing it’s useful." The Art Club was responsible for designing campus posters and created novelty handkerchiefs for students on campus as well as decorations for the 1925 Mother's Day program. Officers included Bernice Kelly (president), Irene Smith (vice president), Sybil Van Gelder (secretary) and Elizabeth Andresen (treasurer).
