Photograph early members of Delta Phi Upsilon, a branch of the national honor society for Kindergarten-Primary education students at San Francisco State Teachers College established in about 1928. Active members included Elizabeth Burns, Gay Hill, Emeline Purdie, Virginia McKinnon, Gladys Cathcart, Lucille Schoenfeld, Valverda Milliken, and Mrs. Clare Schell. Officers included Dorothy McGuffin (president), Gay Hill (vice president) Virginia McKinnon (recording secretary), Gladys Cathcart (corresponding secretary) Dorothy Trefethen (historian), and Emeline Purdie (marshall).
