Photographic spread about student rallies at San Francisco State College's new Lake Merced campus. Virgil Gonsalves and his sextet (featuring SFSC freshmen Johnny Mathis and other singers), established in fall of 1953 performed at rallies either held in the gymnasium (middle) or outside on the patio (bottom). Ron Rosenberg (rally commissioner) was assisted by Larry Gotteli and Sam Agpawa.
