Photograph of Associated Students Legislature assistant speaker Jim Nixon with his son and text about the bill he introduced to allocate Associated Students funds to support a Summer Community Involvement Leadership Training Project to send ten students to the Summer Mississippi Project sponsored by Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Nixon went on to become the first Associated Students president to participate in the Academic Senate.
