Photograph of members of San Francisco State College's Panel of American, left to right: Douglas E. Stewart (French horn in Symphonic Band an Air Force ROTC), Peggy Sasashima (International Relations Club), Jean Ternoir (earlier Panel member), and Charlie Junior (Speaker's Bureau). The Panel of Americans was established to try to ease intergroup tensions by visually and verbally giving proof that people of different backgrounds can and do live peacefully together in one society. The Panel organized discussions for civic, social, and religious groups on campus and presented a series of weekly television programs during the summer of 1959.
