Officers of the Open Road Club that was interested in geography included: Leonard A. Glover (president), Irene Randall (vice president), and Emma Heide (secretary-treasurer). Fall of 1932 officers for the Oriental Club included: Shao Chang Miao (president), Aruturo Baluyot (vice president), and Rosalino Tiu Abaya (secretary-treasurer). Spring of 1933 officers for the Oriental Club included: Frances Tow (president), Baldomero Aguilar (vice president), and Asuncion Guevarra (secretary-treasurer). Anna Verona Dorris (1889-1975) came to San Francisco State in 1922, and played a definitive role in shaping the Geography Department. Dorris worked on campus in the dual capacity of Geography Professor while she organized our developing visual instruction during the early 1920s. Dorris was a leader in a national movement to broaden and deepen understanding of world affairs by utilizing visual aids as well as improve education overall.
