Photographic spread of the Social Problems Club (sponsored by Economics professor Roy C. Cave) was established at San Francisco State Teachers College in spring semester of 1933 to explore social problems of international interest. Their first activity was to organize a protest of the State Legislature against proposals to increase state college entrance fees. Founding officers for the Social Problems Club included: Dorothy Rogers (president), Douglas Thompson (vice president), and Eleanor Pittsey (secretary-treasurer).
