About This Item
Nu Sigma Omega, a social science honor society was established in the spring semester of 1942 by Duncan V. Gillies. Charger members of the society were Philip Dignam, Lowell Noonan, Betty Lou Irons, Richard Perry, Stanley Wilson, Mark Ellis, Effie Robinson, Herbert Wright, June Anderson, Helen Welch, and Gillies. Founding officers included: Gillies (president), Dignam (vice president), Robinson (secretary), Irons (treasurer), and Anderson (historian and publicity chairman). Political science professor Dr. Floyd Cave was the faculty sponsor.
