OTTOMAN Anonymous (1516 - 1918): Topkapi Saray (meaning Cannon-Gate Palace) was begun in 1459 under Sultan Mehmet II. The Audience Hall is where the Grand Vizier Divan members & foreign ambassadors were received by the Sultan.
