Michelangelo Merisi da CARAVAGGIO (1573 - 1610): Caravaggio treated the subject of St. John often (see also the subject portrayed at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City & Palazzo Corsini in Rome). This is the earliest of these three.
