Vincenzo BRENNA (1745-1820): The castle was built for Paul I (r. 1796-1801). Later called the EngineersÕ Castle (Inzhenerny Zamok). The statue of Peter I was sculpted by Bartolomeo Carlo Rastrelli, and cast in 1745-1747 after RastrelliÕs death. It was erected in front of Mikhaylovsky Castle in 1800.
