About This Item
Konstantin TON (1794-1881): The original cathedral was built in 1832-1880 to commemorate RussiaÃs victory in the Patriotic War of 1812-1814 against Napoleon. The cathedral was demolished in 1931 under Stalin to make way for a Palace of Soviets (never built). The church was rebuilt 1994-1997.
