About This Item
Roman KLEIN (1858-1924): The Museum was originally part of the Cabinet of Fine Arts and Antiquities of Moscow University and only held copies of artworks (e.g. plaster casts; maquettes; pictorial copies) from all periods of art history. After the museum moved to the Klein building it was called the Emperor Alexander III Museum of Fine Arts. Its name was changed in honor of Alexander Puskin in 1937.
